How to Turn Subtitles on and off on the Mobile App

Both the iOS and Android mobile app for Udemy support subtitles, provided they’ve been added to the course. This article outlines how you can turn subtitles on and off, while watching your course on the mobile app.

Turning Subtitles on and off on the iOS app

If a course has been subtitled, then you can turn the subtitles on or off on the iOS app, by following the steps below: 

1. Tap on the Settings icon at the top right hand of the screen to access the lecture options

 

2. Tap on Closed Captioning

 

3. Select English or any other available language for the subtitles

Turning subtitles off on the iOS app

You can turn the subtitles off at anytime by following the steps outlined above, and then selecting Off.

Turning subtitles on and off on the Android app 

If a course has been subtitled then you can turn the subtitles on or off on the Android app, by following the steps below:

1. Tap the CC at the top right hand corner of the screen to access the Subtitle Languages options

2. Select English or any other available language for the subtitles

Turning subtitles off on the Android app

You can turn the subtitles off at anytime by following the steps outlined above, and then selecting OFF.
